Bob Lombardo, CFR
Father Robert Lombardo, C.F.R. is a member of the Community of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. He received his BBA in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame in 1979, his Masters of Divinity in Theology from the Maryknoll School of Theology in 1987 and his Masters of Science in Pastoral Counseling from Iona College in 1990. Father received the Dr. Thomas Dooley Award from the University of Notre Dame in 1989 and the Notre Dame New York Club Man of the Year Award in 1991.
Father has been active in parish and missionary work in Bolivia, Honduras and New York and has been the director of two homeless shelters. He has been a member of the Franciscan Friars Preaching Team and the director of the Community’s Lay Association Program. Father has done much to inspire youth in their faith commitment and their vocational discernment and has helped to organize Youth 2000 Retreats for young people all over the world. Father has served as the Vicar and Guardian of Saint Crispin’s Friary as well as the director of Saint Anthony’s Free Medical/Dental Clinic. Most recently Father served as the Franciscan Friars Community Vicar (Vicar General) for three years and is currently stationed in Chicago. Father has a gift of preaching to all ages and walks of life and has inspired and empowered many persons to answer God’s call to live the Gospel with joy, fervor and commitment. Father has preached several weekend retreats here at the Sacred Heart Retreat House.
