“Stricken by Love, I lost myself and was found.” - St. John of the Cross Open to men and women, this weekend retreat will focus on Carmelite spirituality, with conferences by Carmelite Friar, Father Philip Sullivan. The weekend will include Holy Mass, the opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation, Eucharistic adoration, silent prayer and reflection. We welcome all secular Carmelites and all those who would like to learn more about this great spiritual tradition.
The fifth of six children, Father Philip grew up in California and Arizona. After college, he discerned a call to the priesthood with nine other religious communities and the Diocese of Orange. The Lord finally revealed His will in calling him to the Carmelite order. Father was ordained to the sacred priesthood in 2007. He is currently the pastor of St. Therese Catholic Church, in Alhambra, located two blocks from the retreat house.
